Thank you for visiting!

My name is Cara and this is my loveable Rhodesian Ridgeback pup, Abner. Abner is a very social girl (yes, she is a female with a male name. My husband and I have always wanted to name our first dog Abner!) and she loves to hang out in the kitchen. I try to convince myself that she just wants to be near me because she always is, but I’m pretty sure hangs around mainly for the food  😜!! If she’s lucky and I’m making something dog friendly, she can always have a little taste! I do spoil her….

Abner loves: blueberries, carrots, strawberries, watermelon (no seeds), chicken and peanut butter. Give these foods to her and she’ll love you forever.

My interest in food started when I was about eight years old and the only two things on my Christmas list were a KitchenAid mixer and Easy Bake Oven. My hero was Emeril and I was lucky enough to go to one of his shows with my friend. I think I was in third grade and it was one of the greatest days ever!

A few years ago I graduated from culinary school and I have learned so much through that experience. I’m looking forward to sharing my recipes and stories with all of you! Please feel free to send an email to eimparato (at) aol (dot) com or leave a comment. Abner and I would love to hear from you!

  3. Hello beautiful Cara! I’ve only just stumbled upon your blog via a Liebster award page… and I’m glad that I did. Argh, I am considering taking up some study in baking and pastry as well. It’ll be a complete career change, but I think it will be worth it to actually feel like I’m pursuing my passion every day. Where are you working now? Is it what you thought it would be? Thanks for sharing your recipes and stories with us. I can tell that you’re lovely inside and out! You have a new follower 🙂

    1. Hello Laura! Thank you so much for your kind comment and for visiting! Getting further in baking and pastry was the greatest decision I’ve ever made. It was totally worth all the early mornings and long car rides!! And it’s fun!!! Right now I am working at a small culinary studio teaching children’s classes. I am also looking into working at some popular bakeries around my area. It really is great having an education because it makes it so much easier to get a job. There are so many doors that are open for me right now, it’s just a matter of choosing one!! Good luck with everything-if it’s your passion then go for it! Only good things will come out of it.
